THE ‘world’s best airline’ sprang a leak and passengers were drenched when water was sprayed on them in the cabin at 30,000ft.
Five passengers on an Emirates flight from Gatwick to Dubai were soaked in the drama.
The Brits were drenched and amid the chaos missed their connecting flight from Dubai to India.
Footage shows water gushing onto seats, which were covered in water, as the packed jumbo approached the emirate.
There was nowhere for the passengers to move and they described being forced to “take a shower” while fully dressed and buckled into their seats.
A source said: “It was a shock for passengers who thought they were flying on the best airline out there.

“The water was spraying everywhere. The seats were ruined and the passengers were left shivering and needing a change of clothes.
“The ‘fasten seatbelt’ signs were on and the passengers were ordered not to move as they were soaked.
“The drenched passengers were told they’d need to wait for three days in India until another flight was available to take them to Delhi.
“They have been offered no compensation and were left miserable – and wet through.
“It’s a highly embarrassing incident for Emirates.”
The inflight waterfall came onboard Emirates Flight EK0012 which left Gatwick airport on Sunday morning.
Engineers and emergency services were called to meet the seven hour, four minutes flight when the Airbus A380 landed in Dubai at 9.44pm on Sunday.
The jumbo jet was believed to have needed rigorous checks before being given the green light to return to the skies.
The drama came days after Dubai-based Emirates was recognised as the ’World’s Best Airline’ in Forbes Travel Guide’s second annual Verified Air Travel Awards, earning the top accolade for the second consecutive year.
The results were based on a survey of more than 9,000 frequent travellers from across the global hospitality industry.
An Emirates spokesperson said: “Flight EK12, operating from London Gatwick to Dubai on 2 November 2025, experienced a small build-up of condensation inside the cabin, resulting in some water dripping onto one row upon landing.
“Engineers carried out a full inspection and determined that, while uncommon, this can occasionally occur due to operating conditions and presented no safety risk.
“We apologise for the discomfort experienced by the affected passengers.”
